Welcome
Hey there! My name is Enidu Gardiya, and I am currently a first-year Mechanical Engineering Student at the University of Waterloo. Welcome to my Portfolio! Here is a collection of all my personal projects, experiences, and what I have learned thus far as an aspiring engineer. Hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to connect!
About Me
Background & Interests
I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. As a result of this, I am an extremely passionate hiker, and am always looking for my next hike. I am also an avid gym go-er and runner. I even competed in track and field at the provincial level during high school.
My greatest accomplishment as a track athlete was competing at the 2022 BC Summer Games where I achieved a silver medal in both the 300m and 800m distances.
Engineering Journey
My father is who initially inspired me to one day become an engineer. In my childhood, I can recall countless hours helping my father as he fixed issues with our family car. This fascination was instilled in me from hours spent with my father, assisting him as he worked on our family car's engine. His love for mechanics inspired me to pursue a similar path.
Over time, I developed the aspiration of pursuing Aerospace. Staring up at planes flying by during my workouts on the track fueled my rooted passion for mechanics, developing this aspiration. I envision becoming a mechanical engineer, specializing in Aerospace. To me it's not just a goal, but a lifelong dream.
